Great. Looks like Alabama may replace Roy Moore with Roy Moore .
Wednesday, April 26, 2017, Alabama: Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker (R) announced that he is running for Chief Justice.
Justice Parker said in a statement, “For twelve years I’ve been honored to serve as a strong, conservative voice on the Alabama Supreme Court. Today, I’m announcing my campaign for Chief Justice of Alabama in the 2018 Primary Election, to succeed Judge Roy Moore, who was unlawfully removed from office.”
Justice Tom Parker has also made anti-gay statements on a Christian radio show.
Parker said on the show that the U.S. Supreme Court justices jumped outside legal precedents to “impose their will on this country.” The radio host also questioned Parker about what would happen if states resisted the Supreme Court decision. In response, Parker said “it could maybe start a revival of what we need in this country to return to our founding principles.”
The Southern Poverty Law Center also filed a complaint against Justice Parker however:
A judicial ethics panel has dismissed a complaint against Alabama Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker over comments he made about the court decision that effectively legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.
